Sexual health and sexology
Francisco Cabello Santamaría
SUMMARY
Sexology, as an applied science, belongs to the family of health sciences. This implies we should be operating at health prevention and health promotion levels. At present, sexual health is not attended by Government, as sexology is not implanted at an institutional level, and we lack sexual education programs at school. To apply the previously singled out levels we need a State Sexual Health and Sexual Education Plan, that involves a Gender Perspective. The objectives and particular actions of this plan should be divided into two levels, Sex Education and Sexual Health, all of it regulated by a Sexual Health Law.
KEY WORDS
Health, sexuality, sexology, prevention, promotion.
