Evaluation of myths and false beliefs about sexuality among secondary education-students
Carmen Mañas Viejo, Alicia Martínez Sanz.

SUMMARY

This work results from the evaluation that we are carrying out about a sexual-education-programme in gender-perspective, based on adolescent population´s myths and false beliefs about sexuality, which takes place in three secondary schools in the province Alicante. Our aim is to optimize psycho-educative intervention upon adolescent population. We carry out a 22 statements-questionnaire from consulted literature (Master, Jonson, Kolodony, 1995; Lameiras, Fernández, 2007) and our work experience. We analyze the following variables: sex, age, year and number of mistakes, and we find a significant correlation among number of mistakes and variables year and age. The obtained results help to construct a more valid and reliable tool in gender-perspective in order to know adolescent population´s needs and optimize our psycho-educative intervention upon them.

KEY WORDS

Sex, gender, adolescence, myths, false beliefs.
