SUMMARY

Objectives: Knowing the real situation of domestic violence in our entourage and providing abilities for its detection.

Methodology: Collection of cases happened in a population of 31,693 people over 14 years in Sant Cugat del Vallès, detected through the Emergency Services, General Practitioners, Gynaecology, Psychiatry and Social Assistant between 2004 and 2005.

Results and Conclusions: 106 cases of domestic violence, 104 against women and 2 against men, are detected. Most happen to women between 26-50 years and the most habitual aggressor is the partner.
