Rehabilitation Programs for men who use violence against their partners. Results of Senda Program

SUMMARY

  There is no doubt that the main aim against gender violence must be oriented to protect the principal victims of this type of violence: women. Nevertheless it is essential to guarantee the beaters do not reoffend and that is why their main rehabilitation objective is to improve the victims protection.

  The rehabilitation programs should be the most adequate way to help beaters to assume the idea that males and females must live in equality and that any type of violence is not acceptable.

  In this article we study the most important characteristics of a rehabilitation and therapy program for beaters and analyze the first results after a year of intervention with the Senda Program used by the Government of Cantabria.
