| Pre/post assessment of a Sexually-Affective Educational Program in 4th of ESO in Alto and Medio Vinalopó regions (Alicante)

SUMMARY
Objectives: To measure the changes of knowledge and attitudes of 4th year secondary compulsory schooling (ESO) students in Alto and Medio Vinalopó regions in Alicante province (Spain), before and after completing three sexual-affective educational workshops.
Design: Community Intervention Analytic Survey.
Emplacement: Secundary Educative School of 18 Health Department of the Valencian Community.
Participants: 232 students of 4º of Secondary Obligatory School.
Interventions: Three workshops of Affective - sexual Education which content has been: birth-control methods, sexual transmitted illnesses, condom use and affective and equality relationships.
Principal measurements: He(She) polls pre/post of knowledges and attitudes on contraceptive methods, sexually transmitted diseases, use of condom (preservative), affective relations and of equality.
Results: A statistical significance difference (P = 0) from 6,74 to 7,76 in survey punctuation has been observed. This improvement has also statistical signification in three spheres studied: sexual transmitted illnesses, sexuality and condom use.
Conclusions: Students’ knowledge level improved after intervention. However, attitudes remain with no statistical changes after workshop –although they keep an acceptable level-, whereby emphasize some aspects in equality attitudes is needed.
