Training of specialists in Sexology in Spain and Latin America
J.J. Borrás Valls, Mª. Pérez Conchillo
SUMMARY
We present a reflection on the formation in sexology in Spain and Latin America. With the collaboration of several directors of formation programs in the Spanish-speaking world, a wide revision of the formation proposals in this context is carried out. Two types of formation programs are observed: a) Graduate formation programs in Sexology aimed to form specialists in the field, true professionals specialized in sexology and b) Courses of complementary formation in sexology whose objective is to implement a sexological formation of professionals of disciplines close to sexology, optimizing by this means their professional competence in their respective intervention fields. Due to the great heterogeneity of the studied formation proposals, we provide criteria to assess the quality of a formation program in sexology.
KEY WORDS
