Antihypertensive drugs and sexual
dysfunction
F.J. Morales-Olivas, L. Estañ
SUMMARY
One of the pharmacological groups
most frequently related with the appearance of sexual dysfunctions
is that of the antihypertensives. Diuretics, calcium blockers, angiotensin
converting enzyme inhibitors and angiotensin receptor antagonists
would be those with less problems, but the existence of confusion
factors makes it difficult to establish the influence of drugs.
Questions about sexual dysfunctions would have to be included in
the anamnesis as in the follow-up of all patients treated with these
drugs.
KEY WORDS
Sexual dysfunction, antihypertensive drugs, hypertension,
adverse drug reactions.
