SUMMARY
Objective: To identify
variables related to the person, prison situation, romantic relationships
and human sexuality which are significantly associated to the sexual
satisfaction.

Emplacement:
Topas Prison (Salamanca).
Participants:
80 inmates divided into 21 Spanish males, 39 foreign males, 10 Spanish
females and 10 foreign females. Eight inmates did not accept or
abandon the study. They were substituted by other inmates of the
same sex and nationality.
Main measurements: It has been studied the relationship between the sexual satisfaction
and the inmates’social skills, monthly incomes, total time
in prison, time in prison since the last entry, frequency of sexual
relationships, possibility and frequency of contact with a couple,
and the satisfaction with the actual romantic life.
Results: The inmates’ sexual satisfaction
is significantly correlated to the possibility and frequency of
contact with a couple, the satisfaction with the present romantic
life, and the frequency of sexual relationships. This last variable
is the most relevant one. The female inmates show to be more satisfied
because they point out to have a higher frequency of sexual relationships.
Their prototype profile is a women with a couple relationship inside
the same prison. The mens’profile is a person without a couple
relationship.
Conclusions: The male and female inmates who are
more sexually satisfied, have more sexual relationships, see more
often and live closer to their couple, and are more satisfied with
their actual romantic life.
