Loneliness in the elderly

SUMMARY

   The objective of the present study is to describe the problem of the solitude of the elderly analyzing profoundly the factors and circumstances wich can cause this feeling in the process of growing old. This study is done through the collection of bibliographic information from several databases. The main conclusions intend to show possible strategies and methods, personal and professional, with the objective to prevent, detect and treat the solitude in one of the stages of life with greater loss and dependencies: old age.
