The elderly at home. Architectural barriers

SUMMARY

  Many different architectural barriers found in a house as a consequence of the aging of its habitants are shown in this paper. Due to this fact, a huge number of falls happen in their homes, and cause many physical and psychical problems which increase the sanitary cost. Because of this, we consider necessary the adaptation of the physical enviro-ment of the elderly using different Institutional and Governmental support.
