SUMMARY

All educative and formative programs and systems should be adapted to the dynamic and changing process of the new century’s society. There is an evident fact: in the last years, many university courses for elderly people have appeared in different universities with diverse denominations. The interest that they have created has been clear throughout the different encounters celebrated in the past years in order to analyze and debate about this matter.

Santiago de Compostela University has imparted these courses since the academic year of 1997-1998 with a variety of programs created for 55-year-old people or older. These classes integrate the IV University Series (IV Ciclo Universitario). The present article describes this program evolution in its 5 years of existence.

KEY WORDS
