SUMMARY
The muscular work on
older persons is very positive for their health, however we should
know that methodology to use and the effect of it on the physical
qualities of the old. In the present text is exposed the analysis
and results of a strength program carried out in the town hall of
A Coruña and which was counted on 56 older women of 65 years.
The objective of the investigation was to determine the differential
effect of two physical activity programs, one of maintenance gymnastics
and other of muscular strengthening on the different physical capacities.
The obtained results permit to assert that, solely in some of the
used physical indicators, the physical activity programs exercise
have meaningful effect. The indicators that have been seen modified
with the development of the programs are:
1. Strength of manual prension straight (F= 29.594; Sig= 0.001).
2. Strength prension manual left (F= 10.919; Sig= 0.002).
3. Strength legs extension (F= 25.102; Sig= 0.001).
4. Strength abdominal resistance (F= 8.35; Sig= 0.006).
5. Monopodal balance with vision (F= 107.98; Sig= 0.001).
6. Flexibily of the trunk (F= 10.641; Sig= 0.008).
7. Cardiac frequency (F= 10.347; Sig= 0.002).
This study indicates us how, using an adequate muscular
work methodology, the elders can improve their force levels and
therefore be able to develop greater number of in a way independent
daily activities. However the muscular development is not the perfection
and it must be combined with other intervention programs and our
objective is to improve physical indicators like the corporal bulk
index, maximum oxygen Consumption,..
