Elderly’s concepts about death

SUMMARY

  Death and everything related to it, has been an issue that has worried men and woman throughout history. An approach to different death concepts and to what will happen after it, can be done from various disciplines. One of them is Anthropology.

  The present article tries to be an outline of the different ideas posed about death and the imaginary of what happen after it of a group of twenty elderly people living in a nursing home in a small town in Tenerife called Ofra.

  For this purpose, we have established some inclusion criteria like not having any mental disease. The methodology used has been the semiestructured interview organized in five main points. From the obtained results we try to describe the variety of concepts and ideas in this specific age group.
