Reflexions about a geriatric nursing training program in a health centre with a geriatric profile

SUMMARY

   The opportunity of helping in the training of students of Geriatrics given to us by the Cantabria Nursing College has been a positive experience both for the students, who benefit from all that Primary Health Care can contribute both to Gerontology and Geriatrics, and for the nurses from this Health Center since our awareness in this field has raised.

   The training of the students of Geriatrics is a challenge for the nurses who get involved in it and, at the same time, a responsability since today’s students will be the experts who bring along both a higher quality care for the our elders and a higher competence in our nursing profession.
