Nursing Interventions Classification (NIC) in the NANDA diagnoses about pressure ulcer: validation of the activities

SUMMARY

  In the line of looking for, through the practical nurse's description, an instrument of continuous improvement of the quality of the cares that at the same time it allows to determine the costs of the services provided by the nursing professionals and therefore its real contribution to the Sanitary System, seeks to be carried out the validation of the activities included in the interventions Nursing Interventions Classification (NIC 3ª edition) for the diagnoses of the American Association of Diagnoses of Nursing (NANDA Taxonomía II) related with the ulcers for pressure (UPP)
He is carried out a traverse descriptive study for surveys in the University Hospital of Getafe (February of 2002). Population to study: 201 nurses of the Units of Nursing included in the program of Quality of the UPP. The size sample is calculated leaving of the hypothesis that will obtain a percentage of affirmative answers of 70%, for an absolute precision of 7%, with an interval of trust of 95%. (statistical CQC, routine programs CTM 1.1, analysis of the data SPSS 9.0) The results will allow to conclude that the nurses of the University Hospital of Getafe identifies the activities included in the interventions NIC related with the UPP like necessary for the realization of this intervention.
