M. A. Carbajo Martínez, A. Hoyuela Soto, C. Castanedo Pfeiffer

SUMMARY

This article presents the experience of the Institution Padre Menni’s Day-Care Centres for patients with dementia. Nurses represent a key element in providing both Care and Programme Co-ordination as well as managing each Centre.

After three years of hard work, it can be said that the structure of the Centres is consolidated. In addition, they currently play a role in Cantabria’s care network, as evidenced by constant information requests from families and Primary Care Centres, as well as by teaching requests from several institutions. At the moment, there exits an ambitious collaborative project in this sense.
