Importance of the registers in the cure of the pressure ulcers

SUMMARY

  In the essay we are going to expose continually after we want to remark the importance of the registers in the cure of the pressure ulcers (PU), because they have allowed us to carry out a total follow-up of the patient as well as one of the ulcers the patient presents, besides getting a effective transmission of the information about the evolution and treatment of them, which is valid for the permanent staff as well as for the new or temporary staff.

  To get this result you have to make a previous assessment of the ulcer and also a complete valuation of the patient’s state. The data obtained will be registered on a first and only sheet of paper at the beginning of the study (valuation paper).

  In a second model of paper (evaluation paper) the PU’s evolution will be registered periodically every time the cure is done, as well as a photographic follow-up of them will take place every fortnight.
On observing the register, you get a quick and easy display of the evolution of the ulcer suice the beginning of the study until that moment as well as the treatment and the preventive measures adopted. In spite of not being a searched aim, the use of registers has served to unify the infirmary staff’s criteria of actions when preventing and treating the PU.
